    Thorin Schmidt says:

I can’t really make out the mural, even without the scaffold, I imagine. Do we know which Miss is with the mural? Is it Ogg’s mom? Wait, she wouldn’t be termed a miss, it must be a new character? Or is it Alice, who has made it here through a series of shenanigans and assorted hijinks that involve her subduing various minions and dinosaurs, ditching her dress for her stylish fur bikini, and becoming the new Un-English Monarch, which we’ll find out about in a soon-to-be published flashback?

Thorin, your comment is really hit-or-Miss

      Wyvern says:

From what I can see of the mural, it seems to depict Marshall Farraux in the role of St. George, slaying the dragon.

The Always-Astute Wyvern sees through the veil!

(The Author wasn’t expecting anybody to ‘see’ it until the next page)

          Wyvern says:

Well, that pose *is* pretty iconic. I did a Google image search for “St. George slaying the dragon” and nearly all the results used some variant of it, despite a wide range of different artistic styles.

            It is.

Although I have to wonder at the look of joy on the character’s face. Usually, he’s pretty serious. NOT A COMPLAINT! I assume there’s a good story reason.

Of course, Philo would appreciate the scaffolding.

“Good story reason”? Thanks for the vote of confidence, Frank. I better get to work thinking up that reason before the next page is posted!

    Look at the perspective!

    Yakumo says:

Ah, Philo demonstrating mechanics being his primary interest, though not necessarily failing to recognize the arts. Or even necessarily, being an Englishman. It’s possible just from this that his comment is conciously playing up the scaffolding as a comment on the ridiculousness of the Frenchman (or even any “modern” man of this time period) placing himself in the classic hero’s position.

I’m probably thinking to much, but these nuances would fit with what we’ve seen of him so far.

Aha! Finally, the engineer. At least, he is in the mural, and is he not also the Marechal? He has his nose.
