  1. Frank Harr says:

Just telling this chap to keep a respectful distance. What are YOU doing?

Come on, lad. Do you really think she likes shoes?

  2. Chris says:

Err. The French in the last panel is “Where do you think you’re going?”… Not what it says…

    • Mathew Van Dinter (author) says:

Proof-Reader Award Chris, Thanks! I don’t know what I was thinking! I had to have overlooked that 50 times and still missed it! I hope the fix is OK. Please let me know if it isn’t.

    • Shonkin says:

Wrong! “Faire” (infinitive) is “to make” or “to do”. In French as in some other languages, “make” and “do” use the same verb.
Perhaps you’re thinking of the German “fahren” meaning “to walk.”

      • Shonkin says:

But of course “tu” is the singular familiar form. The plural (either familiar or formal) is “vous.” “Que croyez-vous faire?” would be more appropriate.

        • mvandinter says:

Proof-Reader Award Thanks, Shonkin! It is supposed to be singular (as he’s addressing one person, as you’ll see in the next page), so I went with “Que crois-tu faire?” Though I am open to other suggestions.

  3. JJ says:

Seems like an enormous oversight on the part of the builders to have left the causeway so low as to be easily accessible by sea serpents!! I’ve no doubt they’d do a number on the wood work …

I am also truly curious as to what’s going on at the hinge on the drawbridge? My mind cannot resolve how that’s pivoting?

  4. Edward Holtz says:

Aside: Where are the mugs and T-shirts in the ko-fi store?

  5. Thorin Schmidt says:

Hooray! After over a year of being Blind, I have finally got my vision back to where I could binge-read a whole Year and a half! I’m caught up!

    Damn… I’m caught up.
Oh well, There’s still Geek Fortress!

    • mvandinter says:

Blind for a year? How does that work? Yikes!
I’ve been dumb for years… not the audio kind, though, which is bad enough, but nothing compared to blind.

YAY! Out long, Thorinless nightmare is at an end!
