AUTHOR COMMENT:
The dialogue frames go Left-to-Right & Top-to-Bottom. But just to make things needlessly confusing, the background action goes Down-to-Up. The author must have been inebriated while laying out this page.

Nice jukebox!
My theory is that it’s a very stylized Cthulhu statue thingy… Either that or a vending machine.
Your theory? Wait, aren’t you the artist? Shouldn’t you *know* what it is?
If we’re guessing, though, I’d say it looks to me like one of those old-fashioned radios. (Example: https://www.turbosquid.com/3d-models/3d-old-fashioned-radio/663593)
Hmm, maybe it is some kind of receiver the queen can hear messages on. But I like the jukebox theory.
Actually, I’d like a nice window. To have look at the sk—um——cavern ceiling. I’ve always enjoyed cavern ceilings. No pesky clouds, no stars no, oh, you’re leaving? O.K.
Nice plan view. I wonder what they want with a little girl . . .
I love cave/cavern tours. It’s literally my favorite thing to do when I travel. I’m part troglodyte.
But you want to know what they want with a little girl… Hmmm. I’m baffled by that myself. Someone must know the answer… like the author. What’s HIS malfunction anyway?
Our author has just got to keep the mystery going. I’ve no complaints.
I love this page with all my heart.
Cool! Thanks for the comment, BDLC! (I’ll tell you a secret about this page: It’s only half-a-page! The second half is up next!)
OMG! A SECOND HALF?! I don’t think my mind can take this all in.
That’s ’cause you have taste.
I’m getting an Escher vibe for some reason. Great perspectives though.
Oh, I see the Escher thing now that you point it out!
It was really the 2d isometric perspective you see in retro dungeon-crawl video games… like… Diablo.
Ah, that would explain this odd page layout. I like the cut-a-way view, but the panel sequence is a little hard to get at first.
I think the odd page layout may be due to the author’s brain being scrambled by the state of the world of late. Just a theory.
Hmm, well maybe. But it could be you’re tired too? lie Alice’s expression in the last panel. You can almost feel the sarcasm.
Sorry, that should read, “Like” Alice’s expression…
K’s. K’s are tricky.
Especially when your finger thinks it’s hit the “K”.
It’s a pretty cool layout. I like the spacial awareness of the background action; it’s far too uncommon in comics.
