I think Philo got off lightly. If Alice had been interested to know what Philo intends to do with his fantastical contrivance, she might have gone all Lizzie Borden on him.

I have heard of the phrase ‘shotgun wedding’, is this a different version: ‘teapot wedding’?
Seems like there should be a way to combine the two. Hmmmm…
They’re English, they’ll find a way. 🙂
Oooo, I agree. If Roddy knows how to get in there, that really CAN’T be good!
Foreshadowing maybe?
Everything went surprisingly well, she threw less than 5 things at his head this time!
The thought of wedding arrangements may be the actual cause of any head trauma.
It’s no fair is very much an amaricanism. A victorian lady would problably have said “It isn’t fair”.
“Hey” should probably be replaced with a good victorian exclamation, too. Would Philo say “gad!” or “Egad!”?
Those are good suggestions! Thanks, Richard 🙂 I frequently update text with reader input, so feel free to weigh in on previous pages as well.
Surely you have your own sources but just in case here there is a 1877 brithis version of “Voyage au Centre de la Terre”, using a lot of archaisms 🙂

Thanks! That’s a great reference 🙂 19th century literature kicks all them other centuries’ butts! Now, in order to cover my butt:

Thank goodness 🙂
Wait, Philo only just now noticed Roddy was lurking in the tower? o_O
His attention was focused elsewhere.
Oh, we have to select the little Gravvy every time?
I could setup something where you were assigned a permanent avatar, but it would require you to have a real profile with a login process, etc.
Could get confusing if we decide to try them all 😛
Or just messing with the author 😉
Congrats! Consider me successfully messed-with 🙂
