I love the guy (as historical figure): first one to mint gold coins (second to coins at all, that was his dad Alyattes), who asked the pythia about invading Iran… and got the answer: “you will destroy a great kingdom”. And this Lydia, Croesus’ kingdom, was destroyed.
Shouldn’t it be “thus” (and not “this”)?
I love the word (as a figure of speech): First one to use in a paper (second to scientist lingo at all, that was “therefore”).
“I think thusfore I am” is the phrase.
If you were a “mad scientist” and were from a rich family, what would you use it for? Doc Brown from “Back to the Future” WAS rich up until he built his time machine DeLorian…
A lack of funds has always been the biggest hurtle for any inventor. We would not have the personal computers or a ton of other things we take for granted today if not for the weird guy in his garage/basement. She’s just being the entitled brat that thinks such things are silly and wasteful since it’s not about her. Never mind the fact that she’s talking to a lizard queen deep underground, where she would not have been in the first place if she hadn’t decided to “stop the foolishness.”
Is this foreshadowing, or do I smell a future sequel where we will fly to the Moon and discover another contingent of Napolean loyalists who have survived the war? 😉 Or would it be the Russians this time? 😀
She knows her boy so well.
It’s amazing he hasn’t already frittered away his father’s fortune.
Shouldn’t it be Croesus (and not “Croesis”)?

“Rich as Croesus” is the phrase.
Thank you, Maju! The page is FIXED thanks to you!

You’re right (and funny) but I cannot edit the comment.

Undoubtedly, but look at the cool things he’d learn on the way to it not working.
I like this comic bc of the characters and expressive faces.
