Don’t you DARE! It’s creepy, but it’s good. So long as it fits in with the rest of the story, it’s fine. And it adds very difinate menace and lets us know that something is very wrong in Paris-Beneath-the-Sleeve.
Has the dialogue changed at this point? I only just checked this page, and while a bit creepy, it doesn’t seem too bad. If it has changed, what was the original dialogue?
Couple of quick addendums – first, in the second panel the word “is” should be between “this” and “necessary”. and, second, if these guys haven’t had access to normal women in fifteen years, where did the cave-women’s dresses come from?
The fact their uniforms aren’t falling apart indicates they have some means of producing new clothing, and it’s not like only women are capable of making women’s clothing.
If your Willing Suspension Of Disbelief has made it this far (Giant Steam Driller, Underground Paris, Hollow-Earth Dinosaurs… not to mention the endless anachronisms), I trust you can forgive the wardrobe excesses. Plus, there’s a slew of more stuff like that on the way. BTW: Don’t underestimate French fashion designers, who are generally male, after all.
Okay, I get the why of it, but they are still getting deep into the creepy zone there.
I agree. I’m going to think about changing this page a bit…
Boy, that’s creepy.
I kind of hope Godfrey doesn’t have to go all Wilikins on them.

I’ve just (re?)noticed the author notes. :/
I definitely will change the dialogue after all this feedback.

Yes. The dialogue has changed to “drunken fools” from “lechers”.

Thanks Scorpinac! (It should be fixed now.)
They have access to tailors.
