THAT, is an awesome perspective! I see you decided to pass up the harpsichord and instead added a pipe-organ?
Also, I see Philo took the time for a last-minute refit.
The dual flywheels look much cooler…

I was actually referring to the pipes down by the flywheels… The smokestacks are totally cool.
I also like the balcony up at the top.
Oh. I see. I hadn’t intended to go Captain Nemo on the interior, but since I’ve already got the pipe organ…
At first I thought that they had taken the wise precaution to chain it down. Then I realized that it was an anchor. That will be helpful to keep the driller from drifting in the… um… the…hmm…umm…ahh…
I think the anchor is to hold the body in place while the drill turns. it’ll only be needed until the drill penetrates far enough for the caterpillars to engage….
Both of you are probably right. Either that or the author has no idea what he’s doing, as if he has no engineering background whatsoever!
That might be, but the author DEFINITELY has an eye for awesome. Every time I visit this particular page, I have to stop, and look, and just think, like Charlie, “I want one…” 0.0

Before my eyes had a chance to scan the whole image, it looked like Alice was holding a large dagger. Then I realized that it was just Alice’s clenched fist positioned in front of that lady’s umbrella. Foreshadowing??
Also, if this is only the left half of a two-page spread, does that mean next comic will give us the right half? Will we have to endure a full week of refreshing this site to an image that prominently features Roderick’s rear and the side building?
The dagger may or may not be foreshadowing, but it’s curious that no one has ever commented on the symbolism of the “driller” 😉
About the two-page spread: Feel free to save the full image to your computer and admire Roddy’s posterior at your leisure. Sadly, next week that fine feature will be partly obscured by image windows and text-bubbles 🙁 However, there will be additional, though diminutive, versions of the anatomy in question.
