Good question! He may have better luck with a member of another species, who knows what they may find attractive (although I doubt it’s Roddy)?
To an adult female neanderthal, he probably looks like sizable meal.
To a female carnosaur, he probably looks like a small appetizer.

He might have better luck if
A. the female in question didn’t already know him, and
B. the female in question hadn’t witnessed him proposing to another female in the last ten minutes.
C. the female in question was legally blind, partially deaf, and unreasonably optimistic.
“He might have better luck” – I think he is having perfect luck.
This is like trying to trip someone or other practical jokes he loves, he is trolling for a negative reaction rather than actually wanting to get married.
He loses when he gets ignored rather than strong emotional response.

I’ve made a lifelong study of this, and I’ve found that sociopaths (of both sexes) have spouses with “weak” personalities, characterized by sweetness and meekness.
That’s disappointing.
