Aww…. they’re gonna get on like a house on fire.
With the running and the screaming and the burning…

    Talewinds says:

    Dear in the headlights.
    Love the butler.

  3. CapnPanda says:

Okay… time for a random guess! Let’s see what it’ll be this week…

    Alice’s favorite color is…. rainbow.

    • mvandinter says:

Now you’ve gone completely off the rails, CapnPanda. In fact I’m not sure you’re even reading the right comic 🙂

  4. Aslandus says:

Both standing motionless while the butler sets up the table? something big’s about to happen…

    • mvandinter says:

Tea, I think. Does that count as big?

      • N
National Union of Tea Sippers says:

What?! Of course that counts as big! We certainly hope you were just kidding about that.

        • mvandinter says:

I appreciate that you N.U.T.S. are avid readers. I hope more N.U.T.S. become readers. ‘Show me more N.U.T.S.’ I always say!

National Union of Tea Sippers says:

Yes, thanks to the prominent featuring of the Blessed Beverage several times now, your strip has become very popular among N.U.T.S. One might even say that Unearth is the official Webcomic of N.U.T.S. everywhere.

(One does not have to be N.U.T.S. to read Unearth, but it sure helps!)

    W. Murphy says:

They’re totally smitten with each other. They can’t take their eyes off each other. And if he’s smart, Philo will NEVER take his eyes off of her.

  6. W
    Wyvern says:

Nothing happened… and it was hilarious!

    • mvandinter says:

Uh oh. Nothing is starting to sound like something. If that’s true then the whole world is out of whack! Next up: human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together… mass hysteria!

  7. H
    Harrow says:

They have loved each other since childhood but neither would ever so much as hint at it even under torture.
They hardly ever speak except to exchange brief barbed insults.
They know each other’s hot buttons and don’t hesitate to push them.
She can no longer remember why she is angry and even if she understood her reasons she is furious beyond articulation.
He has no idea whatsoever why she is angry but he has an abiding faith that some way, somehow, it is his fault.
She can skewer him with a look and often does.
He usually resembles a deer in the headlights.
    No sex.

These two might as well be married.

    • mvandinter says:

Largely true, Harrow, and well said.

However Alice does know why she is furious beyond articulation… I’m just dragging the explanation out over the length of a lengthy prologue 🙂

      • E
        Ed8 says:

So – she knows why she’s angry, but won’t tell him, but still holds it against him. Hmmm, sounds even more like marriage.

  8. davidbreslin101 says:

As a seasoned butler, Godfrey is aware that it is not good form to offer the lady the wooden step to sit on.

    ansonmacdonald says:

What could Alice possibly see in Philo? She beats him up since childhood and he never mans up.

    • mvandinter says:

      Thanks for commenting 🙂
As to Philo’s ineptitude, I agree. He’s hardly a fine specimen of manhood. Of course, there are extenuating circumstances… that will slowly come to light.
