Instead of dying of boredom in the lap of luxury, I plan to live forever… in entertaining squalor, though.
I like how both Philo’s and Captain Eaton’s characters have developed along with their relationship in the dialogue of these last two pages.
Thanks. Philo has certainly been overshadowed by his brother and fiance before now.
“Abandon ship” oh, we don’t have one of those. Or rather, we used it up already when we abandoned Alice up top.
So, what you’re saying is that the island of Britain was the ship they already abandoned?
The HMS Philice, noble ‘ship of the line, may those still aboard someday find safe harbor.
Ummm… Well… Safe harbor, huh? Don’t get your hopes up 😉
Thanks for commenting, Magtei!
Well done, Roddy. Well done.
Yep. Roddy made sure his victims were be in deep before noticing they’d been backstabbed.
It’s okay Philo, don’t panic! Just turn the shut off valves on the dials a little bit until they give proper readings again. You’ll still be doomed, but at least your readings will be normal.
Genius! Seeing as how peril-sensitive sunglasses have yet to be invented, I think this is the only reasonable course of action.
You haven’t taken into account the most-obvious course of action: Having a spot of tea.
Oh, well, I had simply assumed that as a given. I’m expecting Godfrey to show up any minute with “Young Charlotte” (i doubt he could make himself say ‘Charlie”) in tow, announcing Tea Time…
I approve of your plan! Live forever in luxury… I like it! Now, define “forever”?
Forever is less than eternity, but more than is necessary.
He’s taken the limiters off! When this baby hits 88 miles per hour…
Damn! Now the secret is out!
I suppose banking the fire wouldn’t help quickly enough, then?
You don’t really want things to go smoothly, do you? Disaster is much more fun.
I have wonder wither Philo considers himself in more danger from the run away vessel or what Alice is going to do to him when she catches up with him. Somehow I don’t think little details like him being in the depths of the earth will stop her wrath.
Are you saying that Alice is a supernatural being, a goddess of anger, awesome and unstoppable?
P.S. Thanks for joining the conversation, Aline1 🙂
