I sense much Fear in this one.

@alurker – Can you blame him? I’m separated from her by an entire ocean, two centuries, and the fact that she’s fictional, and I’m still a bit afraid of her.

    (Spoken in Harrison Ford’s voice)
Eye arrows! Why’d it have to be eye arrows?!

He’s afraid of her anger because he cares for her, obviously. If he didn’t care what she thought of him, it wouldn’t bother him that she’s angry. He’s been trying to impress her with his inventions since they were children.

Hmm, something tells me she wants slightly more than tea…

    Biscuits perhaps?

Nice touch with shadow of arrow on his chest.

  6. TwoA says:

This is taking deathly gaze to a whole new level.

  7. Aslandus says:

One may wonder where she got a blowtorch in this time period, one may also wonder why he’s putting his hands on the door when it’s being melted. The answer to both of these questions is most likely that you’re taking the metaphor too literally…

  8. CaptEndo says:

Hmm, when were those old white gas blowtorches developed? I’m thinking it’s a little over a century ahead of it’s time here…

      Ed8 says:

Philo is a brilliant(ish) inventor, and she’s only using the blowtorch in his imagination, so it’s probably an idea he thought of long before its time and hasn’t got around to patenting it yet. Also, the door is extremely well insulated, in order to protect the occupants from the intense heat as the machine bores through the earth.

    • mvandinter says:

Warning: That blowtorch is only the tip of Unearth’s anachronistic iceberg!

  9. davidbreslin101 says:

True, in real life giant screw-nosed burrowing machines weren’t invented til 1864.
This is an excellent poster for the notorious horror film “Alice 2: The Alicing”.

  10. T
    Talewinds says:

Yeah, both would be a bore.

    Talewinds says:

    Upon me honour,
    yer honours,
    a pun,
jest fer the pun of it.

  12. T
    Talewinds says:

I love word play and this comic, and intend no sarcasm.

  13. CaptEndo says:

Oh, 1864! Of Course! How silly of me! After all, it required proper double acting steam engines!
