The Unearth hiatus continues unabated… though I have started working on new pages when I find free time.
I’ve wondered if that anchor is going to pull him after the others?
No, I don’t think so – the anchor is stil firmly attached to the mooring, but if he doesn’t move quickly the snapback on that chain in the last panel is going make him deeply regret having stopped to gloat over his evil handiwork.
I’m pretty sure he’s going to survive. But what do I know?
Sure, maybe back when you were writing this story, but now that it’s crowdsourced, anything could happen! 😉
sounds great about the pages! Go ahead and get yourself a nice big buffer. In the meantime, we can debate whether Roddy is actually evil enough to qualify as a James bond villain….
Of course he is! We already know he’s planning to take over England with his army of steampunk robots.
James Bond villains had to start somewhere.
He’s using reverse psychology there. He soooo wants to be a bond villain so he can hold Miss Universe hostage.
So then who is Bond? Surely not Philo, cowering at his own shadow. I guess Bond in this scenario has to be Godfrey. He’s the confident, unflappable one. So that means Alice should end up with Godfrey at the end of the movie.
no, while I agree Godfrey is unflappable, the true foil to Roddy is of course, Charlie. But, who she winds up with? probably someone from Unearth we haven’t met.
I hadn’t considered who might be the James Bond character… I mean, wouldn’t the James Bond character have to go around seducing beautiful women? Would that mean someone seducing… Alice? Perhaps Sean Connery could manage it, but I’m not sure the Unearth cast is up to the task.
Godfrey is clearly Q.
Philo is the brilliant inventor with no practical field experience – he einvented Bonds transport and the gadgets he uses – the Driller, etc. – Philo must be Q. Godfrey is Bond, as he’s the only competant one among the bunch. We may need to convince him to start seducing whoever, as he probably thinks that is above his station. While Charlie is a foil to Roddy, she is not his nemesis – she hasn’t really thwarted him except in his pathetic attemts at romance. Godfrey cleary thwarted him in the attempted tripping incident, and it was somewhat implied that this was an ongoing battle between them-clearly a nemesis. Alice is M (Judy Dench version) as she is bossy and commanding and generally rude and unpleasant. The Bond Girl of the flick must be the unnamed girl riding the Pseudodactyl with Charlie on the top page banner, who we haven’t met yet.
Sounds good to me. Now we just have to convince the author….
