  1. How Delightful! I’m so glad to see that Alice’s Eyeball Arrows have found new employment. I had been worried about them! And, since they are now part of the Driller, they’ll be available in case Alice needs them agian later! Huzzah!

  2. Oh, and once again, Charlie proves to be shrewdest of Profilers…

  3. Aslandus says:

What kind of toolbox has a hatchet in it?

Anyway, it seems more ladder climbing is in store…

    • Do not mock The Toolbox! The Toolbox has everything! The Toolbox IS everything! ALL HAIL THE TOOLBOX!!!!

        Hornet says:

Given that that’s one of those hammer hatchets they are a good tool to have in the toolbox.

It’s have has a nail puller, that’s where the notch is removed from the lower hatchet face.

          • mvandinter says:

The author feels obliged to inform the reader that he owns a notched carpenter’s ax/hatchet of the type seen in this comic, and that he keeps it in a toolbox. While the author remains hopeful for the future, the hatchet has never been used to threaten British aristocrats.

              Murphy says:

I too own a notched carpenter’s hatchet. I inherited it from my Father, or Grandfather!

I’m more interested in what will happen when Roddy slams head-first into the upside down swimming pool

“carpenter’s hatchet.” Always wondered what that thing was really called.

                • Yes, back in the early Homestead Days, carpenter’s hatchets were a real boon… You used the blunt end to drive in nails, the blade end to drive away bandits and angry Native Americans, and the notch to pull out the nails that got messed up when you had to switch from carpentry-mode to bandit-mode mid-swing.

The same kind of toolbox that one might use to “hide onboard as a stowaway” 😉

      • Just a reminder, as the author-proclaimed person in charge of Who’s Who; since The Toolbox has been identified as an official MacGuffin for this comic, it is now a “named plot device” and as such, should be referred to with capitalization… *we now return you to your regularly scheduled webcomic*

    • Also, given that no one has closed the hatch they came through, I’d say the Driller is already sabotaged enough. 🙂

    Frank says:

    But it’s a first step.
