    Scrutinizer says:

Well, Charlie, I certainly can’t argue with that logic. EWWW!!!

  2. D
    David says:

But… he is everything your current fiance is not… he will actually show up for tea (trying to trip the server)!

    • mvandinter says:

Welcome to the discussion, David 🙂

Are you advocating the marriage of Roderick and Alice… ’til death do they part?

      • J
        JP says:

Well if he ever gets to convince her (EWWWW indeed), at least she is quite capable of making that “death” condition become true.
I just don’t think she would even wait for the marriage before getting to that “death do us part” part.

    Thorin Schmidt says:

Something I’ve been meaning to ask. What, exactly are Alice and Charlie’s actual hair color? I LOVE the sepia overtones, I just can’t imagine them both dying their hair silver….

  4. R
    Rod Lane says:

This kid gives us Rodericks a bad name. Even worse, my family call me Roddy too!

    • mvandinter says:

Hi, Rod. Sorry about soiling your name in this remote corner of the Internet. But don’t worry too much. The readership of Unearth isn’t remotely large enough to undermine the positive impact of Roddy McDowall!

  5. Apvogt says:

Roddy, you keep this up and she might move you up on her target list. And I have no doubt that she could finish him with nothing but her hands and arrow eyes.

  6. J
    JP says:

He’s a catch! Don’t let him go, Girl!
Paraphrasing a character from another webcomic I read (Misfile):
“So is a jellyfish, technically, but nobody wants to kiss one”.

    • mvandinter says:

      Hi JP! Welcome to Unearth!

Everything I know about jellyfish I learned from Spongebob. So, now I’m trying to imagine how Spongebob would handle this situation. Hmmm…

  7. D
    Djiril says:

He’s 14? Isn’t he a bit old to be dressed like a little boy then? No wonder he’s acting out!

    • mvandinter says:

      Hi Djiril,

Is it the breeches or the collar that turned him evil?

Would it help if I changed is age to 12 or 13?

      • D
        Djiril says:

I think that would fit better with the outfit and what we’ve seen of the character so far. The Wikipedia article says that outfit was “most popular for boys about 3–8 years of age, but some older boys wore them as well.”

I don’t know what your plans for him are, but I’m getting the impression that Roderick is a bit neglected by his guardians, so it’s possible that whoever is responsible for buying his clothes just isn’t paying attention.

      • D
        Djiril says:

Oh, and it was the breeches. The breeches definitely turned him evil.

          mootstrap says:

I guess they were a breach of his guardian’s responsibilities? At the least, we can tell, a posteriori, that they caused Charlie to give “short” shrift to his advances.
