What a fool-proved, tried and tested way to introduce yourself in a new surrounding: First hunt the natives!
By the way: Elephant guns?
Did Philo expect to come out finally on the warmer side of the Planet, or is he simply the kind of person who packs expedition-like for a simply stroll in the park?
His country’s at war, and he expected to need heavy firepower.
Hell even without war, it’s a case of better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it.
I happen to know that the intended destination of the trip was India (of the Kipling variety).
And the eyeball arrows emerge! Seek! Destroy! HUZZAH!
I was apparently right, chapter three is reddish because it’s in Alicevision.
It’s as seen by the eye arrows. Through a reddish haze of fury.
More like Elephant FUN!
Amirite guys?! Hahahaha, hey where’s everybody going?
Wild guess Petaybee, You are an Anne McCaffrey fan.
Ha! Most people think I just like petting bees!
Your avatar so utterly fits your comment, Petaybee. And the Web comic it’s from in general.
Haha, Max’s dad is probably the strongest candidate for being a perpetrator of verbal crimes against the auditory senses, but seriously, nobody is above suspicion. 🙂
so what webcomic is it from?
🙂 I haven’t quoted anything in particular in this instance, but my avatar is Isabel from the webcomic Paranatural, and while she’s one of the more, I don’t know, “serious” characters (although that word by itself seems like it mischaracterises her), none of the individuals from the comic can be reliably counted on not to make a pun while in conversation.
Also: Yay overly long complex sentence. 😕
Alice now wants to head back? Interesting.
That’s a good point, Wisknort. I think I’ll change “home” to “out”.
I just assumed that she preferred the socially stifling environment of her home to the option of starving to death and/or dying of thirst in a barren cave 100 miles underground. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. (or other side of the bore-hole?)
Fixed thanks to Wisknort. Thanks 🙂
I’m really starting to get sick of her attitude.
Alice is indeed a cantankerous character, and if her story arch were to continue, something would have to give way.
If you are sick of it after a couple years of one strip a week, just imagine how Philo must feel after nearly two decades of constant exposure! No wonder he tried to dig a deep hole and hide in it!
Philo learned to tune her out decades ago.
I guess that’s why she started throwing stuff at him.
